What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
How quick and intense transition and delivery was. I went from a 4 to 10 and waters broke in about an hours time. After my water broke 7 minutes later baby was here!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Knowing that all the midwives and doctors at the practice I chose fully support natural birth and also that my body was made to do this.

What surprised you about your birth?
That I actually did it! Also, how much better and quicker my recovery was this time!

Walk for as long as you can when I was checked the second time I was at an 8 and 20 minutes later my water broke. Stay focused on something other than the contraction, and remember at the end you are going to be holding your sweet sweet babe!
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
The student midwife would tell me when I was at the top of a contraction and that helped a ton knowing that it was ending. Also, they told me to relax my shoulders during the contraction and focus on that, which helped a ton.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I was in the typical laying on your back. Everything happened pretty quick and I was so uncomfortable there was no moving me!
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Exhilarating. I felt so much relief and amazement that we both did it!
