When did you realize you were really in labor?
It was the 4th of July, and I was laying down because I had some light contractions and I was kind of timing them. And I heard a slight pop and pretty soon I realized my water had broke!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
This time, it was my first natural hospital birth with midwives. I trusted them, but just the hospital experience was new for me so I was a little nervous.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
With baby #3 it was visualization and prayers!

What surprised you about your birth?
It was so so MAGICAL and FAST! My water had broke at 9:55 and she arrived at 11:14. I also did NOT push. She was a water birth and my midwife even said, "I didn't know you were pushing!" Because I had reached down to pull her out of the water and my midwife was shocked! Well, I didn't push I just relaxed myself entirely and let my body and baby do the work!

The water helped tremendously. I also would say mantras that "This is good! She is almost here! I can handle this"

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was actually a little overwhelmed because the hospital made me nervous, but they did a good job with respecting my wishes and it wasn't long before she was nursing and everything was fine. It was

Nellie Kay was named after her Great-grandmother and grandma.
