When did you realize you were really in labor?
Midnight, I was probably six centimeters ? it was too late to do anything but lay down and wait to push
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I thought it would be hard dealing with the pain or cutting the cord at the right place or getting the placenta out timely and safely, but as the days passed I realized that dealing with others criticism was more than I could emotionally handle. I thought I would get applause but I didn’t realize that people mostly questioned the safety of this completely natural and normal process!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Being my seventh, I thought back on my other births. My third was an unmedicated hospital birth. I knew I could do it. Others have done it. This is how God has designed it and He would help us!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
It didn’t hurt as bad as I expected! Being at home actually calmed me and I felt so confident in my husband, Michael’s ability to care for me and baby Jael. When she arrived, I was surprised that we DID it, we actually did it!
