When did you realize you were really in labor?
I believe I was in labor most of Monday night but didn't get the full effects until about 5:30 Tuesday morning.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Well I ended up having to have a c-section at the hospital but the most challenging thing that I faced at the birthing center before transporting to the hospital was the back labor I wanted to stay in the birthing pool but it kept slowing down the process but it was the only thing that helped with the pain.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Tell myself that no matter what I can do this I can deliver this baby. But my baby girl could not come any farther to the birth canal and I would not dilate.

What surprised you about your birth?
What surprised me the most was realizing I wasn't going to be able to give birth to Mati the way I had planned. But she came via c section and was very healthy and smiling and happy

Do not give up, it is hard and very trying at times, although I didn't get to birth naturally all the way I would have loved to it would have well been worth it!!!?

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The birthing pool was the best although after getting to the hospital late Tuesday evening the epidural was VERY helpful

Laying flat on an operating table

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing it was the absolute best feeling in the world.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Do not give up, it is hard and very trying at times, although I didn't get to birth naturally all the way I would have loved to it would have well been worth it!!!?
