What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I went natural til 9 cm, then needed an emergency c-section due to cord prolapse and breech presentation.
I think the most difficult thing for me during the time I was going natural was, despite all the reading and how prepared I thought I was, until about 8 cm, I had a hard time focusing through each contraction and not letting the pain overtake me. When 8cm came, I felt I was down to business and ready! But ended up needing a csection

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Talk with others who went natural to get personal experiences! Also, write down affirmations and even if you don't have a doula, tell your support person the most important phrases to say during a contraction "you can do it" "it's almost done"
-
What surprised you about your birth?
How fast it went for me being a first timer! I had steady contractions 6 minutes apart starting Friday night around 7-8pm, slept all night, had a serious painful contraction about 6:30-7am Saturday morning and by 8:30am I was 9 cm!
