When did you realize you were really in labor?
My water broke at 11pm on Oct 4th. Contraction started at 11:45pm. I knew labor was happening then.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing was in transition. It was 20-30 minutes where I thought I would never have another child because of how intense the sensations were.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I did to prepare was watch take a natural birth course with my husband, watch natural births and watch natural birth advice on YouTube.

What surprised you about your birth?
What surprised me was contractions started out at 5 minutes apart for 1 minute long each. I was told this starts later into labor but it started quick for me.

My advice is to practice relaxing, take a natural birth class, and watch natural births. Its so important to educate yourself the best you can before you go into labor.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I birthed my son in a tub and that worked wonders for my lower back pressure. Before I went into the tub my mother-in-law was massaging my lower back which worked wonders during contractions.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered in the tub in the sitting squat position.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was so relieved to finally have him in my arms. I was in such awe.
