When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I was really in labor when I didn't want to be bothered by anyone. The touch of anyone seemed to make the contractions worse. I just wanted to close my eyes and relax.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I did to prepare for childbirth was take a free birthing class offered by the hospital. Although this was baby 4, I learned so much!

What surprised you about your birth?
What surprised me about my birth was how fast I recovered. I felt like I could get up and run a 5k! Talk about adrenaline rush.

Pain relief strategies that worked best for me were, believe it or not, laughing! Nothing else seemed to calm me better.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended up delivering on all fours. My previous births I was bullied into laying flat on my back. Delivering the way I WANTED was so empowering!

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I felt so overjoyed to be welcoming our 4th and last baby girl into our family. Our family is finally complete.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
My advice to other mamas who want to go natural is you can do it! Your body was made for this. Relax, relax, relax. Stressing helps nothing. And breathe....even when it all seems impossible, just breathe.
