When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized labor was starting when my water broke at 5 am on November 3 .
Contractions didn't truly begin until later that afternoon aground 4 pm .

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The biggest challenge was staying focused on relaxing . When the natural reaction is to tense up it took all of my concentration to breath and relax every part of my body.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing in preparation for birth was definitely my birthing class. It gave me and my husband a really great perspective on natural birthing and I was able to ask questions which definitely prepared me much more.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised at how quickly my actually labor went! I was expecting a much longer process, all said and done my entire labor process from 1st contraction to birth lasted 7 hours.

Natural birth is completely possible , it all about preparing your mind and surrounding yourself with good support people who can keep you focused.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Pain was lessened with controlled breathing and relaxing every body part from the forehead down. It helped to distract me .

What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended up laying on my back to deliver. I wasn't planning on this , but it's how I felt most comfortable and how I felt the most pressure for pushing.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was such a miracle to hold my baby! Just complete JOY. I will forever cherish that moment .

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Natural birth is completely possible , it all about preparing your mind and surrounding yourself with good support people who can keep you focused.
