When did you realize you were really in labor?
About 45 mins before I gave birth. I was grocery shopping. We planned to go to the birth center but we never made it... My mom caught her in my bathroom! I set my groceries down on the table at 7 and had her by 7:15-7:20ish. My full birth story can be found here: http://earthmamachildbirth.blogspot.com/2015/01/suprise-home-birth-of-liliann-grace.html?m=1

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The stitching up afterwards... I had a 2nd degree tear! It actually didn't hurt when I tore, it hurt when I got fixed up!

What surprised you about your birth?
It was so fast!! And as much as I feared the actual crowning and birth part, that wasn't really that bad! It felt better to push!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Spraying the shower onto my head. I didn't have much time for other techniques so I just grabbed the shower head and sprayed it onto my head to distract myself.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Hands and knees.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
She was warm and wet and I felt washed over with an intense euphoria mixed with shock...

Do your prep work! Yoga, fetal positioning, pregnancy tea, 5w supplement, dates, childbirth in the glory. Really focus on envisioning a positive birth throughout your pregnancy.
