When did you realize you were really in labor?
I woke up at 4 am to pee and felt pinching feeling in my vagina. This feeling started at 12 min apart and lasted about 1 min then slowly each contraction came closer together until I was at 5 min. Having the contractions becoming more consistent and closer together I knew.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Lack of support and knowledge from extended family.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I read books and talked with other women who had home births.

What surprised you about your birth?
Since this was my 3rd home birth and 4th baby, there really was not anything that I can think of that surprised me about my birth. But it did surprise me how good my 3 kids were while they were watching me push their baby sister out. I could tell that they were feeling a special reverence and a spiritual experience.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You have to have the desire to find out for yourself and your family. Ask God if its right for you and your family. Find another mama and friend that can give you support and positive stories about birth.
