Sami's Hospital Birth

  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    On October 14th at 2:00 am my water broke at home in my bed I waddled to the bathroom to prevent a mess.

  • What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

    My water was broke for 27 hours and only at a 4 my midwifes said we would have to be transferred to the hospital due to risk of infection... At 6am on the 15th of October I started pitocin and anti biotics (witch was the last thing I wanted)

  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

    I watched 1000 natural birth stories and actually mama natural birth of her second child and Jess from YouTube were the two people who inspired my choice to have an unmedicated birth

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    After I had the pitosin I was surprised how fast it went I got it at 6am they let me take a bath at about 9am was in there till about 11am got out I got a shot of fetenal because I was about to give up and get the epi witch I really really didn't want less then 10 minutes my body started to push... Pushed till 11:32 and my son was born

  • Get someone on there that will motivate you and not let you give up and most of all RELAX
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Try and relax. A bath. Rubbing my back and hips

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On my back it was the only place I could get enough force to get him out

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    I cried the natural high that everyone talks about with a natural both is so true

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Get someone on there that will motivate you and not let you give up and most of all RELAX
