When the cramping I was feeling while sleeping turned on and off significantly, that's when I woke up and started timing.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Reminded myself that my body knows what to do and to work with it rather then against. Practiced breathing and not to tense up when I would contract.

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast it went and how much pushing at the end felt like I really just needed to take a poop!!
Our son came out not being breathing probably and he had meconium aspiration. The center we were at prepared us for what would happen in that kind of situation, everything on there end was perfect.

To remember that your body knows how to give birth and that even if things don't go as planned I wouldn't have changed anything about my labor or delivery

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I did a water birth and instantly felt better getting into the tub. I ended up getting 4 sterile water shots in my lower back

What position did you end up delivering in?
My bf was sitting in the water on the ledge in the tub my arms were trapped over his knees and he held my legs up and open while my nurse and midwife held my feet and left me push on them

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing I was shocked by all the hair

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
To remember that your body knows how to give birth and that even if things don't go as planned I wouldn't have changed anything about my labor or delivery
