When did you realize you were really in labor?
I've had 3 children naturally, and all 3 times I gave birth less than an hour after arriving at the hospital. I guess I realized I was really in labor when the pain was so excruciating I was second guessing going with a natural birth!
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The pain, obviously. All 3 of my children were born unusually fast, but the pain of the contractions was way worse than the actual pushing:

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Reading what other moms had went through during a natural birth
-
What surprised you about your birth?
How extremely fast I had all 3 of my children after the first contraction.

I actually had no time to think about it. I just pretty much told myself every contraction meant the baby was getting closer to being in my arms!

-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Indescribable. I could only smile, laugh, and cry'

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
It is an absolutely wonderful, and terrifying experience, but it can be done!
