When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I was in labor during my 39 week doctors appointment. I was 39 and 3, the most pregnant I have ever been, went to use the restroom to provide a sample to be tested for proteins and when I wiped I had bloody show.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing about going natural was remembering to focus inwards during contractions and to relax my body to let it progress.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I did to prep for my birth was reading and following my hypnobabies program.

What surprised you about your birth?
The thing that most surprised me about my birth was the fetal ejection reflex, I went from transition to a resting period were contractions dulled before my son came into the world without pushing. My labor nurse readjusted my leg to check if baby was descending and the next contraction my son was born into her hands without warning. I was in shock and bliss in my first photo after birth.

Even when you feel like your loosing yourself to the pain, refocus on the end goal and go deeper within yourself to relax your body in contractions.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The best pain release was rocking in a chair, the active movement without much effort helped counter the pressure from the contractions.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Side lying in a semi sitting position

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Holding my baby for the first time felt like the most beautiful thing, he came out so fast and peaceful that I was in amazement of him.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
The best advice I can give to another mom wanting to go natural is even when you feel like your loosing yourself to the pain, refocus on the end goal and go deeper within yourself to relax your body in contractions.
