When did you realize you were really in labor?
Once we arrived at hospital and I was asked if I wanted to know how dialated I was. When I said no they quickly told me I was going to be admitted.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing was remaining calm. Knowing I wanted my daughter to be brought to a calm world.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Taking Hypnobabies courses. My husband and I had only been to 3 classes but were completely committed to all of the homeplay and listening to the tracks. Once my pressure waves started I breathed through all of them. Not making a sound.

What surprised you about your birth?
That although my baby came 6 weeks early and I couldn't give birth at the birth center like we originally intended the RN responsible for me during the birthing process really respected us and listened to everything my husband said we wanted.

Commit yourself to a plan and don't ever doubt yourself. You will have a calm and beautiful experience just believe in yourself.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Breathing through the pressure waves. Focusing on remaining calm. Trusting your partner. Lastly, rocking chair really aided in baby moving down quicker.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I ended ip birthing almost sitting up but in hospital bed.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I felt like butterflies hit my belly. I looked at my baby and looked at my husband and instantly fell in love all over again.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Trust your natural instinct. Don't listen to all the negative talks and horror stories from people. Commit yourself to a plan and don't ever doubt yourself. You will have a calm and beautiful experience just believe in yourself.
