When did you realize you were really in labor?
I woke up at about 5:00 am and I just knew! I wasn't sure it would be the same day delivery but I knew it was beginning!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
In the heat of the moment, I forgot all the reasons I wanted to go natural! I was definitely tempted to stop the pain. Honestly, I kept thinking to myself "if this gets much worse, I'd like an epidural..." but it really didn't until the very end and the pushing stage, when my baby was finally almost here!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Prenatal yoga and chiropractic!!

What surprised you about your birth?
How slimy he felt coming out! And... how quickly everything went and how amazing my husband did guiding me through! I thought that I had pushed for maybe 15 minutes but when it was all said and done the nurse told me I pushed for about an hour!

Just remember - it's NOT a matter of can or can't. You can do it!!!!!!!!!! Find a hospital or birthing place that is baby-friendly! Tell EVERYONE your plan - your much less likely to back out!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I smelled doterra comfort blend the entire time and my husband pressed down on my back! Also, I did my best to visualize each breath going down and out the birth canal.

What position did you end up delivering in?
The classic! My doctor was very supportive of all my choices but she said, listen this position works. It was fine for me and for my husband because he was right by my head the whole time!

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Incredible! All the nurses said they wished they could have captured my reaction because it was one of the best they ever saw!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Just remember - it's NOT a matter of can or can't. You can do it!!!!!!!!!! Find a hospital or birthing place that is baby-friendly! Tell EVERYONE your plan - your much less likely to back out!
