When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had been contracting for several days but nothing really consistent. Then I went in for my last appointment I found out I was already dilating so we decided to come in later that evening to prepare for induction since I was already right at my due date.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
That it hurts! Lol I have an amazing Doctor that really lets us decide what we want (as long as everything is going well) He knew from my first birth that I didn't want pain medication and he made sure our nurses knew that.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I prayed to God in the name of Jesus! I prayed that my body would do what it was designed to do. I prayed for strength and endurance. I prayed for our nurses and for mine and the baby's health. Also, even though I wanted to have a vaginal pain-med free birth (which I was able to do) I had to release that desire beforehand because at the end of the day no matter how our child came into this world as long as we were both healthy it wouldn't have mattered what I had to go through.

What surprised you about your birth?
How quickly he came! I felt the sensation to push and our Dr. was literally running to get to me... He got there and 3 minutes later our baby boy was born!

Breathing, moaning, and changing positions.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing!!! There's nothing like the moment your baby is handing to you!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
If you're going to give birth in a hospital find a doctor that will be supportive of your wishes but also trust your doctor enough to make a decision if there needs to be intervention. Also don't be afraid to find out if there are any specific nurses that are better at helping a mother labor naturally!
