When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had been in labor since 3:00 in the morning but wasn't sure until about 3:00 in the afternoon. I finally texted my doula and told her it was happening. My contractions were far apart but it was clear that things were progressing.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The unknown about what to expect. I had a very intervention-heavy birth with my first child and was unsure how a natural birth would proceed and what would happen once we arrived at the birth center.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I practiced yoga throughout my pregnancy, exercised, read everything I could find about natural birth, hired an awesome doula, and found a midwifery center I loved and trusted.

What surprised you about your birth?
It was soooo incredibly fast (I was in active labor for 2 hours and pushed for 4 minutes) and way more manageable than my first birth which was highly medicated and ended in a vacuum delivery. I would have a natural birth over a medicated birth any day! Way less painful and such an incredible experience. I felt like i was on top of the world when my son was born!
