When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized that I was in labor after I had sat down on the couch. I just got home from work I may have been home not more than 10 minutes and I felt a pop when I sat down. I said mom mom I think my water broke. I sat for a few seconds and then I felt a contraction and said yep it broke we gotta go to the hospital now. Yelled for my hubby and he said what wrong honey I said my water broke we gotta go. He said OK so he grab his shirt and shoes and we left to the hospital. Called his mom she followed us so she could watch our other son while I was in the labor room.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
I think the most challenging part is when you know and your body knows that it is time to push and they are telling you don't do that just breathe just breathe.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I made sure the baby room was done and I had packed the baby bag and my bag with a towel two weeks in advance and kept it with me in my car just in case it would happen at work and need someone to take me and I had something to sit on so I wouldn't mess up anyone seats.

What surprised you about your birth?
It was fast this time around a lot quicker than the first. I got to the hospital was six centimeters doctor comes in it was time to push. I push only two times and he was out my mom made it in time to hear him cry. Once we got into our room he was taken to get cleaned and checked on. They bring him back and said that he has jaundice so keep him on his photo blanket while feeding. Only thing was he didn't want to really eat so they check him and then he was taken to the NICU his levels got bad to a scary point and I didn't know if my son was going to make it. I was scared and worried and all I could do was watch him, talk to him and touch his hand or his foot couldn't hold him or hug him nothing he had four photo lights plus three needles in him one IV one for phenobarbital and the other for blood plasma. After all the meds he took it slowly started to come down and on my first born son birthday our lil boy that was in the NICU got to finally come home. My other son was so happy he said mommy this is the best present ever you and my brother are home with me I love y'all. My lil one was born early I was right at 36 weeks when he came into this world but the reason he was in the NICU was because his blood type differ from mine. They said even if he was full term he would still have been in the NICU due to his blood type and mine. He is A- and I am O+. Just heads up for all moms out there if there is ever a way to find out what your baby blood type is before giving birth it would be awesome because if I had known I could have saved him from going to the NICU and all just by having a c-section instead but nonetheless I love my lil one he is super awesome

Not really sure as to what advice I can give except that going natural without pain meds is great. It won't effect you and the baby while you are pushing. You get to experience everything a lot of other women don't get to and you will never forget it. They are a true blessing and more.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
What helped me was to hold my hubby's hand but the nurse kept moving him out of the way and it made me mad.
