What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

When it comes to childbirth, people generally tend to focus primarily on the pain. When your focus is on the pain it's much harder to let you body do what it needs to do. When your focus is on your baby, and the life changing moment you are experiencing, it's so much easier to embrace everything that's happening to your body.
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Water! And my husband and mother using pressure on my lower back.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
Hands and knees.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Awesome! I was in total awe. I felt so empowered, so strong and he was so perfect.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
When it comes to childbirth, people generally tend to focus primarily on the pain. When your focus is on the pain it's much harder to let you body do what it needs to do. When your focus is on your baby, and the life changing moment you are experiencing, it's so much easier to embrace everything that's happening to your body. The joy of seeing, holding, and meeting your baby far our ways any pain labor brings. For me, it helped to remember that the more painful the contractions got, the sooner I would be holding my little one.
Bring it on!!
