When did you realize you were really in labor?
I began having contractions at 6am the day I gave birth. Contractions were consistent but pain was only at a 4 (so I assumed I had some time). At 1pm my water broke and I realized this is the real deal.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
This was not the case with this birth but with my first born I had back labor. That made going all natural super challenging because I didn't get that small window of relief inbetween contractions. It was excruciatingly painful throughout the entire labor.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I made sure I did not allow myself to be stressed, tensed, or worried. Peaceful pregnancy = peaceful delivery.

What surprised you about your birth?
This time around, everything happened so fast! Contractions began at 6am, water broke at 1pm, baby girl was out by 4:25pm! P.S. We got to the hospital after 4pm!!!

It all happened so fast! It was kind of like: Wait, what!? Well, hello!! (:
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
I was much more in tune with myself this time around and really focused on my breathing. When a contraction came, I had got into my stance and breathed through it.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered laying on my back, with my legs in stirrups!

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It all happened so fast! It was kind of like: Wait, what!? Well, hello!! (:

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can do it!!! Listen to your body. Stay calm. Be confident in not only yourself, but your baby as well.
