When did you realize you were really in labor?
When my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and I needed to breathe through them because they started to be really intense!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
No breaks in between the contractions and that the hospital nurses wanted me to stay in bed during labor when I really needed to be on my feet walking around!

Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Natural Childbirth and the birthing stories on here! Knowing that it’s possible to have a natural birth without a midwife or doula present!

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast it went! I was at the hospital for two hours before little man arrived!!

Breathing and listening to my husband’s affirmative words.

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my back. It was very painful but hospital policy! Luckily, I only had to push three times!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Try to get your spouse to be prepared for natural childbirth and don’t forget your birth plan when delivering in a hospital that does not support natural childbirth! Don’t think this is going to be easy but be confident in your ability to do this without any medical interventions!
