When did you realize you were really in labor?
First, I woke up with a contraction just after midnight. Then, sometime around breakfast, I started having contractions that were more regular and started to feel painful.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My labor went so smoothly, I really can't say that any part of my labor was unusually challenging.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Mental preparation was key. I had confidence that this labor and delivery experience was going to be a positive one.

What surprised you about your birth?
1. I had a lot of support from my doctor and nurses to have a great natural birth.
2. Doing most of my laboring at home was extremely rewarding. When we arrived at the hospital I was dilated to seven - one hour and fifteen minutes later our little girl was born.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Partially sitting up in bed.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
1. Amazing! What a privilege to hold the child that God has knit together in my womb.
2. Relief! Labor is over and so are all of those annoying pregnancy symptoms!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can 100% do this! You were created to be able to birth your child into the world without medication or intervention. Prepare yourself with the knowledge and confidence that you need to feel comfortable with a natural birth. Relax and think positively and your body will follow.
