  • What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?

Prayer and meditation. Mental endurance was just as important for me to focus on as physical endurance.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

I was surprised that it only took 6 minutes to push my daughter out.

  • Stay focused on each contraction and actually try to rest during the breaks. Have positive affirmations and visuals to focus on when you are feeling weary.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

Hot water in the shower and birthing tub and very very low deep breathing.

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

I was swatting in the tub and leaned back just as I pushed her out.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

    So relieving and empowering.

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

Stay focused on each contraction and actually try to rest during the breaks. Have positive affirmations and visuals to focus on when you are feeling weary.
