When did you realize you were really in labor?
After waking up in the morning and going to the bathroom. After laying back in bed to try to sleep again, the contractions started right up. I knew I was already at 5 cm, so there was no doubt to me.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing is the pain management. My babies come fast and furious and it's very intense. But I was determined to do it!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I take a liquid herbal supplement called Gentle Birth and I wouldn't be without it!

What surprised you about your birth?
After my water broke, I got out of bed and started leaning over the bed and rocking. I felt the urge to push right away and my son was born 5 minutes later!

Make sure this experience is all about you and your little one! This is one time when you have the final say in everything. You can do this!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Having my back rubbed was wonderful! The support from my husband was truly priceless! I also sip on a lot of water when I'm in labor.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was incredible! So many emotions come flooding over you...relief, exhaustion, exhilaration and joy!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Make sure this experience is all about you and your little one! This is one time when you have the final say in everything. Pamper yourself with all the comforts you need, slippers, energy bars, coconut water, soft music. You can do this!
