When did you realize you were really in labor?
I was at home timing contractions and they started to be 4 minutes apart (I was having contractions for 3 days BEFORE that, but they were all 7-10 minutes apart)

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The back pain (I almost gave up 25 hours in because my back hurt so bad -- I had a 32 hours labor)

What surprised you about your birth?
Once her head was coming out, it all went by REALLY fast. The shoulders didn't hurt and I didn't realize the ring of fire. I was just ready for her to be there. I was also surprised at my stamina and how I didn't give up.

I barely remember it, but I know I just wanted to see her face - her umbilical cord was so short that she only would go up to my stomach, not my chest. Once I got her on my chest, I was so happy that she was here.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Horse lips, bathtub, shower!

What position did you end up delivering in?
Standing up / squatting position, holding a scarf on the back of the door

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I barely remember it, but I know I just wanted to see her face - her umbilical cord was so short that she only would go up to my stomach, not my chest. Once I got her on my chest, I was so happy that she was here.
