When did you realize you were really in labor?
On Sunday, the night of the Super-moon, I started noticing contractions. This wasn’t too abnormal because I had been experiencing nightly contractions for about a week at this point. But these were slightly stronger, slightly more regular. I took a shower to see if that would ease them, but it sped them up! I paced in my room until around 3:30 am and then decided to try and sleep between my contractions. They were 4-5 minutes apart all night, but very weak. By morning, they were 7-8 minutes apart but still very regular.
Monday morning, I noticed the contractions were very regular and I asked Mitch to stay home with me. I texted my midwife, Stacey, and doula, Amanda, to let them know to standby. I was so sure this was it! Contractions were super regular, 5 minutes apart lasting 30-45 seconds for several hours. Mitch and I spent the day watching The Office and preparing for the birth. I also went to the acupuncturist that afternoon to see if that would help move things to the next level.
