  • When did you realize you were really in labor?

    Unfortunately I didn't really go into labour...my waters broke and 24 hours later I was induced.

    I was unable to go natural as I had to be induced.

    Educate myself. Ina May Gaskin's guide to childbirth was a very empowering asset to have.

  • What surprised you about your birth?

    I wasn't really surprised by anything...I was 2 weeks overdue, and very ready for my little baby to arrive

  • There was a two hour delay before I got to hold as she was struggling a little, but once she was in my arms, all I can describe it as, is pure joy.
  • What pain relief strategies worked best?

    Tens machine, pregnancy ball, walking, bath, gas and air

  • What position did you end up delivering in?

    On the bed on my back.

  • How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?

  • What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?

    Try not to be pressured by hospital protocol. Also if I ever give birth again I will most certainly enlist the services of a doula, for added support.
