When did you realize you were really in labor?
I needed to be induced Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 8pm too prevent my placenta from failing. He was a week over due, so I didn't mind as much as I would have if he wasn't at his due date.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Due to a few issues, I had to be induced with cytotec, so my birth wasn't natural like I hoped. After 14 hours in labor, the pain was so dreadful I had to get an epidural. I was only 4.5cm dilated and ended up having a 27 hour labor.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing I did was YouTube hypnobirthing videos. I practiced everyday. I also made Mama Natural's lactation cookies in advance and brought them to the hospital.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised how much pain I could endure before giving in to an epidural. I was also surprised how it felt good to push the baby out. Granted, I was pretty numb, but I still felt my body expelling him for me, like it was just time.

Try your hardest to avoid inductions, and don't worry if it's not the birth you planned, it's the birth you were meant to have.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Breathing in for 4, out for 8 worked for hours. Also my husband reading bible verses to me that I saved regarding working your way through hardships and birth.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
Because if the epidural, I couldn't move my legs at all, so I ended up on my back delivering my baby boy.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Holding my baby for the first time was the greatest experience of my life. Better than getting married, it was like falling in love with someone for the first time x1000!
