When did you realize you were really in labor?
Labor started at 7:30 in the morning. I started to notice early labor contractions as well as leaking amniotic fluid.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most difficult part of labor was dialating from 7-10. I also was tempted by the possibility of an epidural at this point, but my husband helped me through this challenging part.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I did a lot of research on natural childbirth. And also some meditation techniques for pain management.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was really taken back by how rushed the hospital staff was. I knew they may try to rush me through the process, but was surprised how true this was. I am glad I was somewhat prepared for this.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I delivered on my back. I did feel pressured and rushed to deliver as soon as I was pushing and the doctor was on the clock.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was unbelievable holding Tessa for the first time. Some much emotion and disbelief waved through me in those moments post birth.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
I did not take the class, but received a lot of helpful information from the website and videos.
