When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had a repeat C section so it was scheduled. I had to be at the hospital at 5 a.m. and they took me back for my c section at 7:20 a.m.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
This was my second child both born via c section. My first baby was an emergency c section & my second baby was a scheduled c section so I pretty well knew what to expect. Only difference was the planned c section was way more calmer and I wasn't a nervous wreck & the emergency c section was a rush and I was so nervous & scared.

What surprised you about your birth?
The thing that surprised me with this birth was when the dr got him out and held him up for me to see and he said "Wow he's at least 6 lbs or more" which is what we were all expecting. So they weigh him and I heard the nurse say "5 lbs, 3 oz." And we all was so shocked. I had been told almost 3 weeks before I had him that he was already 5lbs and also I gained more weight with this pregnancy. None of us could believe it when they said he only weighed 5'3 my Dr asked the nurse was she sure that's all he weighed.

It's really undescribable!! Tears just start rolling down my face and my heart starts racing from pure happiness and excitement! It's just a feeling you only get that one time you bring a new baby into this world.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Well after a c section you're not allowed out of the bed for at least 24 hours. Then the next day they come in and make you get up and walk around and that is very painful! So only thing that helped me was to move really slow.

What position did you end up delivering in?
C section!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Well I can not tell you from my own personal experience because I've had two c sections. I don't think anyone who has to be cut like that is going to do it without any medicine. Now on the other hand if pain doesn't really bother you then why not do it all natural?!? My contractions with my first born was unbearable to where no matter if I sat down, curled up in a ball, stood up, laid in the bath tub, or any other way nothing was helping the pain ease up not even a little bit. When they finally asked me if I wanted an epidural, after telling me I wasn't able to get one, I couldn't have been more happier to let someone stick a needle in my back! It wasn't long after that and I was being rushed back for emergency surgery to save my baby girl!!
