When did you realize you were really in labor?
The night before I woke up with contractions 10 mins apart. They were closer together the next morning but I went about my day even went to the chiropractor! A couple of hours later they were coming every 3-4 minutes the pain had intensified and I knew I was really in labor! I had denied it all day thinking I would have hours or days to go being my first baby. She was born only a few hours later! I got to the birthing center and was already dilated to 9 cm! She was born an hour after that! I’m lucky she wasn’t born in the car haha! It was all so fast and truly incredible!!!

Believing my body could do it!
The health benefits for mom and baby are truly amazing and I loved that my baby and I experienced that and I definitely had to have a positive mindset and all of that in mind to get through!

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Taking the Mama Natural Childbirth class helped me prepare so much! Having a healthy lifestyle before I got pregnant, praying, exercising, red raspberry leaf tea, dates, and chiropractic adjustments. Also reading and learning as much as I could and trusting in God!
-
What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised that it went so fast and how amazing the process was! It was very manageable and that also surprised me. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and it was painful but not near as bad as I was expecting and had prepared for!
-
Believe and trust the way God designed your body for it and learn and research as much as you can about it!
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Walking through contractions, hot shower and being in the tub while pushing!
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Absolutely amazing!!! Life changing

What did you name your baby, and why?
Sage Elizabeth!
Sage means wisdom.
And it was a few days before Thanksgiving so it was fitting!
