When did you realize you were really in labor?
Will I lost mucus plug the day before and begin having contractions it all started on January 29th 2004

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
will I had my first child in a birth center in 2001 and I got all the way through no drugs and at the pushing stage the nurse that checked me I guess did not notice I was a ten but the doctor said there was still a lip left with I know now I was not fully effaced and when that nurse had me pushing against that 98 percent effacement I swelled up and I was told to stop pushing and that was so hard the pressure was crazy her head was there but she got stuck and before I knew it I was rushed in for a C-section. Which as a first time mom I was terrified and sad y birth plan was so quickly uprooted I went from pushing to stopping to being knocked out and a C-section I just remember telling my husband don't u dare let them give her a bottle so back to this my second birth I was so determined to have a VBAC I did not even concentrate on pain and can't tell u how amazing it was when I pushed my baby out the satisfaction of having her was unexplainable

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Well I stayed in shape the best I could with a toddler and I researched what exactly happened with my first birth and had a doctor and midwife that were just as supportive about having a VBAC also I tried the best I could to let my body relax while laboring knowing that my body could do it and my husband was also very encouraging

What surprised you about your birth?
How amazing it felt to just allow my body to do what I knew it could do and that having a birth plan all together with the midwife and everyone involved do what ever it took as long as my baby was not in distress to give me the birth I feel that the first time I had a unseaaary C-section your body is made to have a baby and unless there is distress to baby or u intervention I feel as with my experience was not needed so I was just so lost for words when my body did what it can do and I had my dream birth with a VBAC AND YOU CAN TOO !!!!

There are no words to explain as all mothers know although I remember looking down at her and said we did it baby girl and skin to skin and right away she began to nurse its just indescribable joy and love !!!!!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Just focusing on y husband breathing and allowing my body to relax the best I could working with your body not against it is the beat way to sum it a up

What position did you end up delivering in?
I was on all fours for me and I've heard AMD seen a lot of women deliver this was too and I found it as if I could work with the force of gravity and also rock as needed for pain relief

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
You can do it and sometimes intervention is necessary bit make sure and have a birth plan so who ever is gonna be there knows your wishes our body is ment to have children so try to stay calm and work with your body not against it for as women we are made for giving birth so be strong relax and allow nature to do its thing
