When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had been experiencing inconsistent contractions for the past 48 hours so when the contractions became consistent and were 5 mins apart and lasting a minute I knew it was the real deal.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Going through transition with the contractions rolling in back to back brought negative thoughts of I just want this over with, it hurts so bad.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Having a birth plan established of everything I knew I wanted during and after helped greatly. My midwifes and I were on the same page they knew exactly what I wanted and made sure it all happened.

What surprised you about your birth?
How fast I pushed my daughter out. From the moment my water broke to her being born was only 5 minutes. It all happened so fast!

When it comes to having the natural birth you want I believe that information is key. Do your research and learn all you can about natural childbirth.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
When I was at a 5 Laboring in the tub helped greatly I actually was able to rest some before the real hard contractions and transition set in.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I was laboring on my bed on my knees while hugging the birthing ball then my water broke and I instantly felt I needed to start pushing so I ended up giving birth on all fours.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Since I was 42 + 2 weeks overdue the anticipation was really real. I went through moments thinking I was never going to have her and I was going to be pregnant forever so as soon as I held her I felt such a relief she was here and she's okay!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
When it comes to having the natural birth you want I believe that information is key. Do your research and learn all you can about natural childbirth. Just know that women have been giving birth this way forever it's what our bodies are made to do. Give your body more credit it's capable of a lot more than you realize.
