When did you realize you were really in labor?
It started out Sunday night I just thought it was back pain due to being over my due date. We went to the hospital Monday morning to check on little one because he was not moving like he was and my back pain had got worse throughout the night. That's when I found out that I was 4 centimeters.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
My little one getting stuck twice and not being able to push him out by myself.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Went in with out a birth plan. Everyone I came in contact with drilled in my head to have a birth plan. When it came down to it all that mattered was breastfeeding, delayed clamping, and if the Doctor had to do a C-section.

What surprised you about your birth?
My little one was supposed to be 7-8 lb baby boy, that was not the case. He was a little line backer weighing in at 9 lb 8 oz

I has so happy that he was finally here but due to lack of breathing I was so scared for him. If I had to go back and change anything I would not change a thing.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Since I mostly labored at home I slept most of the time. When I went in for the induction, I had an epidural because I was tired and my back need a break from back labor.

What position did you end up delivering in?
Laying on my back.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Since he got stuck and was rushed to nicu, I got to hold him a while two minutes. But for those two minutes I stared in amazement. I has so happy that he was finally here but due to lack of breathing I was so scared for him. If I had to go back and change anything I would not change a thing.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Hot compress on the lower back will help you through the birth. Also, go in with a open mind because anything can happen.
