When did you realize you were really in labor?
I didn't really. I was rather uncomfortable for about an hour, but it being twins I thought it would take longer. It wasn't until I felt one slam down hard that I thought it might be serious, and that only happened 5 minutes before they were born.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Finding a medical professional who would facilitate a natural twin birth.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Finding a midwife in my area who was confident in her abilities in twin and breech births.

What surprised you about your birth?
I knew they would come quickly being that my other two labors were fast but I was shocked at how quickly two humans could be born.

All of the pain dissipates as soon as that baby is born.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
None, they were born too fast.

What position did you end up delivering in?
On my back, 3 feet away from a birthing tub because they came so quickly

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was so relieved. The ob-gyne I had seen months before had labelled them IUGR and wanted to deliver by c-section at 31 weeks. So I was so relieved to see round babies who weighed 5 lb and 10 oz.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
All of the pain dissipates as soon as that baby is born. Any first birth I was so scared because I just thought the pain would last forever.
