When did you realize you were really in labor?
I realized I was really in labor when my mucus plug dislodged while I was talking to my mom on the phone. I had been feeling and timing contractions since 6:45 am that morning and lost my mucous plug around 8:00 am.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Not tensing up during contractions and accepting the pain is a part of it all. I also try to remain calm and very focused during each contraction and remind myself it will be over soon and I will get to hold my baby.

Prepare yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Rely on God to give you the strength and endurance you will need and remember, women have been having babies long before pain meds were ever invented, so you can do this! Our bodies were created to carry and birth babies, just educate yourself on going natural, set up a great support team and take it one contraction at a time:)
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Sitting up on the edge of the bed or standing and leaning on my husband while rocking from side to side.

What position did you end up delivering in?
The traditional position, on my back with knees pulled up to my chest.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Shocking initially because she came so quickly lol but also overwhelming joyful and comforting to finally hold and hug her and know she was safe in my arms.
