When did you realize you were really in labor?
On Wednesday, March 29, I woke up with stronger contractions. I had an appointment with my midwife that morning and contractions continued throughout the day.
-
What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Since this is my first child, I didn't have anything to compare it to, but the contractions were very difficult and then pushing the baby was even harder.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Exercise daily!! Baby was low and in position when I went into labor. I know it helped my mental state as well as physically during labor.

What surprised you about your birth?
We had a girl!! We didn't find out during the pregnancy but EVERYONE said I carried like it was a boy.. Also, the pain while I was pushing was worse than I expected.

Do It! Don't think twice, pain is temporary. Do what's best for you and your baby!! It is magical to be able to give birth the way God intended. You can handle much more than you think you can!

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Focus on breathing. Holding my husbands hand and PRAYER

On my back because they couldn't get a good reading on her heartbeat when I was in birthing pool

Unbelievable! I was in shock all day! So many emotions. I cry happy tears every time I think about it!
