When did you realize you were really in labor?
The evening before baby was born, I had a feeling it was time, and hurried our other children off to bed. Then I prepared myself a strong red raspberry leaf tea, drank it down, and retreated to my bedroom. Contractions started right up within the hour!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Well, childbirth is challenging, no matter how you slice it. I choose to go natural so that my baby gets the best start in life, and for my own health reasons.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Equipping my "medical kit" with RRL tea, Cramp Ease for after birth pains, liquid cal-mag, and whole food prenatals, as well as herbal tinctures to assist postpartum healing.

What surprised you about your birth?
How quickly he came! This was my tenth birth, but I'm always surprised because baby arrives when I'm at the point that I think they might never come. LOL

What pain relief strategies worked best?
My birth tub and shower brought great relief! Relaxing all voluntary abdominal muscles during contractions, to allow the uterus to do its work. Taking liquid calcium-magnesium seemed to help, too.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I was standing upright in the shower when I gave birth to the baby.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Amazing!
