When did you realize you were really in labor?
Well I went into labor at 35 weeks and refused to let the hospital take them then when labor stalled at 5cm. Went on bed rest and made it to 37wks and 6days. I continued to have contractions until then. I went in for a check with my midwife and I had progressed more so we went ahead and headed to the hospital since the contractions got stronger.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Explaining to hospital doctors the importance of delivering vaginally with no meds knowing that I could have complications with baby b and end up having to go under.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Eat healthy and stay active as long as possible.
-
What surprised you about your birth?
That the hospital doctors were amazed and hadn't seen a twin vaginal deliver with no meds and no complications. That baby b was bigger than baby a because they said normally baby a is bigger.

Stick to your guns no matter how much people or doctors say you should get meds or have a c section. Unless there is something wrong with baby or your health.
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
I like to just zone out and meditate and pray while I'm in labor and lay on my side curled up. Oh and apparently I wiggle my toes when a contraction comes lol!
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
Normal on my back with knees bent up.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Really good and overwhelming to hold two at once after the long pregnancy of being so uncomfortable.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Get a midwife or a doula. I had 5 pregnancies 1st being natural with no meds and 2nd being a c-section, but still had 3 VBACs after and two were home births! Stick to your guns no matter how much people or doctors say you should get meds or have a c section. Unless there is something wrong with baby or your health.
