When did you realize you were really in labor?
March 1st at 2am I woke up with very painful cramps. I called my doula after I tracked them for one hour and they were 5 mins apart and were getting more intense. I was doing everything she told me while she got home. At 4am my water broke, I got in the shower and started to get ready to go to the hospital...

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I did everything possible, I drank red raspberry leaf tea , I hired a doula , I read so much on mamanatural website on how to prepare for unmedicated birth, I did the labor exercises.
But nothing can really prepare you for that moment..
-
What surprised you about your birth?
How fast everything happened and that I didn't push for too long.
-
Be open minded because we makes plan but God guide our steps and many times things don't go as planned.
-
What pain relief strategies worked best?
Pressure on my hip that my doula applied
Only thing that made me feel a little better
But then I could not handle the pain anymore and ended up asking for an epidural
But I was still able to feel the pressure and push when I wanted to, not when the doctor wanted me to...
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
My back ? Although I asked for a squat position but doctor said I could not because I had an epidural and my legs were numb.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I can not explain the feeling, this was my 4th child, but since I am older and more mature, I felt more connection with this one

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
To prepare themselves , but be open minded because we makes plan but God guide our steps and many times things don't go as planned.
At first I was very disappointed on myself because I could not avoid the epidural , but I decided to forgive myself, because I know I did everything possible to have a unmedicated birth but it just didn't happened. But thank God baby and I are good & very healthy and that's all that matters ?
