What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing for me about going natural was I wanted to do hypnobabies but I could not find the time to listen to the CDs. And wasn't too excited about listening to them. So I only listened to a few tracks.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
What help me prepare was doing research. I read the hypnobabies book and also Ina mays books. And at one point I think my labor stalled where I wasn't dilating and I had to remember a part in the book where she basically says to let your cervix open and it went from a 5 1/2 to 9 1/2 shortly.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprise when I got to the hospital and they checked me i was at a 5 1/2.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The bath was good for pain relief. But I was only in there for A short while. They couldn't monitor baby so I had to move to a different room that did not have a tub which was OK I was able to walk around and change positions often. The midwifes were awesome at suggesting different ways also. But I'd just listen to my body and do what felt best.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I pictured I was going to deliver squatting. When it came to that time I was standing next to the bed squatting and I wanted to get in bed so they put the squat bar on bed but I ended up laying back half way and putting my legs up on the squat bar and pushing against the bar with my legs and that seemed to help.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was amazingly special and unreal, I had several emotions since I had delivered a stillborn in December. Actually in the same hospital room. Which I think was meant to be and doing it natural I was able to be aware and feel the process. I'll never forget that yummy smell when they placed him on my chest.
