When did you realize you were really in labor?
It was at 2:30 AM urgently needing to empty my bladder & I saw my mucus plug but also started having cramp like sensations. This was a sign my body & mind was ready for my baby & I knew it! I wasn't sure how long but I knew it would be very soon!

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
The most challenging thing about going natural was staying at peace of letting birth take its natural course of time. Thankfully I was at peace of not looking at the clock but my mind was often wondering 'how much more'.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
I feel a whole combination of: affirmations, positive thinking, hypnobirthing audios, praying, staying active, getting chiropractic care, Mama Natural classes & videos, my doula & for sure TRUSTING my own self!

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised at how empowered & self respect I felt for myself. It was one my biggest gifts to listen to my deepest & inner self to experience my natural birth.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Moving around to a position that provided the most comfort. Deep squatting, yoga ball & sitting on the toilet.

What position did you end up delivering in?
In an upright position, I was able to lean against the bed because the hospital bed converted into a "squatting chair" & allowed for me to sit up yet relax.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Bliss! Grateful to God for His beautiful miracle of life through me.
