When did you realize you were really in labor?
4 AM on birth-day I woke up with what I knew were contractions. I was able to notice what was going on in my body and thank the Lord for what He made this body to do.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
There was nothing challenging about the Natural part of my labor and delivery. We had prayed for a supernatural childbirth, believing that Jesus broke the curse of pain during childbirth and my short labor was that way. Definitely intense sensations during contractions but not painful that I couldn’t breathe through and handle :)

-
What surprised you about your birth?
Placenta Abruption - meaning I would need a c-section. I had done EVERY natural thing I knew about to had a Natural VBAC.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Breathing and moving was my go to during intense contractions.
-
What position did you end up delivering in?
On my back on an operating table.

How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
It was so wonderful. My midwife didn’t tell me before baby was born, just how bad things could have been. The NICU was prepped for life-saving blood transfusions and more. But baby came out absolutely PERFECTLY healthy. He even rooted and latched right on the operating table! Such bliss during an undesired surgery!

How did the Mama Natural Birth Class help you in your childbirth?
The GREATEST thing I was able to pull from the course was all the info about a “gentle c-section”.
I was also so thankful for the information throughout the course.
