When did you realize you were really in labor?
I had contractions a week before my due date and the week after. I was induced 6:30 in the morning on July 20th. In those 30 minutes we had trouble getting baby's heart beat because he kept moving and kicking the monitors. Around 7 in the morning the doctor came in and broke my water and put a heartbeat monitor on baby's head. 10 minutes later nurses and doctor came in telling me I had to be taken off the pitocin for an hour because baby's heartbeat kept dropping. They watched me for an hour and than put me back on. They left me on the pitocin till 10 because baby's heart rate kept dropping now again. After an hour of watching him they lost his heart beat and had all the nurses in a frenzy including this mama, his daddy, and grandma. We were told that I had to have an emergency c-section because they kept losing his heart rate.

Don't give up, the pain that you are feeling or will feel can't compare to the joy that's coming !

What pain relief strategies worked best?
The pain relief strategy that helped me was breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. I pretty much just thought about my breathing and keeping an eye on baby's heart rate.

What position did you end up delivering in?
I had a c-section so I was laying down.
