What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
The most helpful thing to prepare for this birth was watching MamaNatural YouTube videos (and taking notes) and reading books that supported natural labor (where I wrote notes for my husband to read later on).
-
What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised at how quick it went! I knew I would labor fast but had no clue that it would less than 25 minutes of active labor, for me.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Standing on my tip toes and holding on to the birth bar was the most comfortable position for me. I used deep breathing for pain relief (and praying!)

What position did you end up delivering in?
I climbed back into the bed and they only had time to bring one stirrup out (my other foot was on my husbands leg) to deliver.
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
Cager was three weeks early and a very fast labor so I was surprised and elated that he came so speedily and was heathy & handsome!

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Do it. Your body was made to do this. I felt so disconnected from my first birth, like it happened to me instead of me being apart of it, and I think that is some of what lead me to have postpartum depression. I had a completely different experience this time around and I don't regret it in the least.
