When did you realize you were really in labor?
I was having mild contractions because of using a breast pump to induce labor. I decided that I was going to head to the hospital to be sure they said I was only 3cm, but if I wanted they could break my water. I said yes and that's when I really started to notice it.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Breathing techniques, and having a good support system. My sister, husband, and a doula I highly recommend having one

Don't let others scare you, and if you tell yourself it will be painful and prepare for it you can do it. It may be the most painful experience, but you will forget that the moment you hold your baby.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
Breathing techniques until I had a nurse who kept telling me to just breathe I wanted to strangle her. I did get the IV pain meds, because I still wanted to feel everything. This way I could still feel everything and honestly when I have another child I will probably forgot the meds be they didn't really do anything

What position did you end up delivering in?
Leaned up chin to chest and grabbing my knees
-
How did it feel to hold your baby for the first time?
I was extremely tired as you can tell in the picture, but it was the best feeling in the world made even better when he latched and started nursing

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Don't let others scare you, and if you tell yourself it will be painful and prepare for it you can do it. It may be the most painful experience, but you will forget that the moment you hold your baby. Prepare yourself, prepare your support team for what you want, and think about the end result. The epidural would have made it hard to get up and moving, going natural with just the IV meds I wanted to get up and move right away
