When did you realize you were really in labor?
My contractions had been every 10-15 minutes for the last two days. I was in the bathtub trying to relax after taking some Tylenol and drinking a glass of water when I felt a pop and pressure. I called my in-laws to come over right away because my husband was at work and I drove myself to the hospital with my mother-in-law.

What was the most challenging thing about going natural?
Not knowing if I was in true labor was the most difficult thing, my contractions are never really that bad until the very end.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
This was my fifth baby so there really wasn't anything I wasn't prepared for. I knew what to expect.

What surprised you about your birth?
I had a similar labor and delivery with my second child but I was surprised at how fast this one arrived. I had her 8 minutes after I walked into the hospital. My husband did not make it to the hospital in time.

What pain relief strategies worked best?
I took Tylenol several baths to help relax.

I was laying down on my left side.

What advice can you give to other mamas who want to go natural?
Trust your body, get to know relaxation techniques, have good support persons with you when you deliver.
