I realized I was in labor when my contractions began getting closer together and constant.

The most challenging thing about going natural was dealing with the pain of the contractions. They were so close together by the end and it was difficult to breathe through them.

What was the most helpful thing you did to prepare for childbirth?
Breathing exercises through my birthing class, and having the support of my husband to uphold my wishes of going natural.

What surprised you about your birth?
I was surprised how fast my birth was. I was in labor for about 8 hours total, and she was born after only about 20 minutes of pushing. It was amazing to be able to hold my baby after all this time!!

Breathing, squeezing my husband's hand through the contractions.

I labored leaning over the hospital bed, but delivered in a sitting position/on my back

You can do it! By the time the pain seems to be unbearable, you're ready to deliver that beautiful baby! Remember, our bodies were made for this!
