  1. We heard the name on the TV series Arrow.
    It means gift of God
    It’s short, cute and uncommon

  2. My husband chose it 🙂

  3. My daughter’s name is Thea. Love the name when I first heard that, not realizing the meaning behind. She’s definitely my precious “gift of God”!

  4. We picked the name originally because it was from a show we watched. Arrow. Thea Queen is the character name and she’s a strong character. That name just stuck with me. Then looking up more research on the name, I found that, from the giant impact hypothesis, the planet Theia collided into Earth which later created the Moon. Spelled a little differently, Theia, instead of the spelling we liked – Thea. I love everything space so it was perfect when I read that. Made it a perfect choice. My 4 year old son loves everything space too so he approved the name. 🙂 Her middle name is Eve. From my son’s fav movie Wall-E. So we thought that would be perfect. Also her half bday is Christmas Eve so also perfect there too.

    • Had my daughter in summer 2023 and that’s how I got her name through arrow ?. Her name is Thea-may

  5. I am THEA and i am gift of god ?

  6. Thea means “gift of God” and since she is our rainbow baby she is most definitely a gift of God!!!

  7. Named after Thea from green arrow. We love the meaning behind the name, Thea was a Greek goddess of light.

  8. We first heard it in a tv show, but when we looked up the name meaning we loved it. There are a couple, one being “goddess” but another being “gift of God”. She is our oldest and she was a surprise (very good one!) so gift was a perfect description for who she was/is.

We love the name as it’s fairly unique but not in a weird way. We’ve had some people ask what it’s short for and we say it’s not short for anything (in her instance). Sometimes when people ask her what her name is and she says “Thea” they hear “Fia“, “See-ya”. But most people say it right when hearing and seeing the name.
